About the Role
Technical Writer is a mid-level role with increased responsibility for authoring, revising, and managing technical documentation. This position independently authors and manages technical documentation while contributing to workflow management, mentoring, and documentation governance. Mentors peer writers and supports workflow and technology management.
- Executes assigned work independently and leads portions of projects.
- Independently authors and manages documentation with moderate oversight.
- Coordinates with SMEs, training, and communications partners.
- Executes quality processes and contributes to complex datasets and validation.
- Maintains documentation lifecycle controls and ensures metadata accuracy.
- Ensures documentation includes required approvals and signoffs in accordance with established governance and control standards.
- Supports tooling processes, enhancements, and metadata management.
- Develops and maintains resources ensuring quality and branding standards.
- Mentors peer writers and supports team execution.
- Contributes to process improvements and workflow execution
- Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities – knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
- Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
- May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
- Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Columbia corporate culture in all actions and words.

About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or related field (or equivalent experience). Required (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years technical writing experience. Required
- Demonstrated mentoring and leadership skills. Required
- Proficiency with knowledge management tools (e.g., MadCap Flare). Required
- Strong organizational and project management abilities. Required
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage deliverables. Required
The pay range for this role is $24.38 - $49.67.
