As a global leader in manufacturing construction materials for the building envelope, we offer anchors and reinforcement, moisture protection, thermal performance, wall estimating software, and air barrier systems for commercial and residential masonry markets.

We are looking for a Computer Aided Designer (CAD) and CNC Programmer (CAM) to prepare preliminary and detailed product and component drawings to support the Engineering and create machine tool programs to support specific manufacturing processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and provide CAD drawings per engineering documentation of new products, and custom components.
  • Revise, tolerance and redraw, as required, production drawings of existing standard products.
  • Discusses design specifications and make production line observations as necessary to complete drawings or
  • CNC programming assignments.
  • Participate in designing and programming prototype components and or products.
  • Work effectively with different departments (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Shipping, etc.).
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of computer aided design system functions and capabilities.
  • Observes all department and Company safety and housekeeping rules.
  • Perform additional projects, duties or assignments as directed by management.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 2-year CAD certificate from Technical College or equivalent documented experience.
  • Experience with CNC programming and/or nesting software for Laser cut a plus. SolidWorks a plus.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand,  and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and training.
  • Ability to read engineering, architectural, and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to revise engineering drawings based on requirements or engineering department instructions.
  • Ability to create detailed shop drawings for fabrication of part and assemblies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to create CNC laser nesting programs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work to align with the deadlines and project milestone dates.
