Position Summary
The Senior Network Architect is a strategic technical leader responsible for designing, engineering, and governing Voya’s enterprise network and datacenter architecture. This role blends deep hands‐on expertise with high‐level architectural vision across Azure cloud networking, Oracle OCI cloud networking, on‐prem datacenter infrastructure, routing and switching, SD‐WAN, security, and global connectivity. The ideal candidate is a CCIE‐level architect who can drive modernization, lead complex initiatives, and influence technical direction across multiple business units.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Design
- Develop and maintain enterprise‐level network and datacenter architectures supporting hybrid cloud, multi‐region, and high‐availability environments.
- Architect Azure networking solutions including VNets, ExpressRoute, vWAN, private endpoints, load balancers, and cross‐region connectivity.
- Design scalable routing and switching architectures using BGP, OSPF, EVPN/VXLAN, MPLS, and advanced datacenter fabric technologies.
- Lead SD‐WAN architecture and policy design across global sites.
- Strong knowledge of Megaport configuration
- Define standards, reference architectures, and best practices for network and datacenter infrastructure.
Advanced AWS networking experience, including:
- VPC peering, design and segmentation
- Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN
- Route 53, and Elastic Load Balancers (ALB/NLB)
Advanced Azure networking experience, including:
- VNet design and segmentation
- ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways and vWAN
- Azure NSGs, private endpoints
- Load balancing, application gateways and cross‐region connectivity
- Advanced OCI networking experience, including:
Virtual Cloud Networks (VCNs), Dynamic Routing Gateways (DRGs), FastConnect, and Site-to-Site VPNs
Engineering & Implementation
- Oversee implementation of complex network solutions across cloud, datacenter, and edge environments.
- Provide escalation support for high severity incidents and advanced troubleshooting.
- Lead network modernization initiatives including segmentation, Zero Trust, automation, and cloud migration.
Strategic Leadership
- Serve as a senior technical advisor to leadership, providing guidance on network strategy, capacity planning, and technology roadmaps.
- Mentor engineering teams and provide architectural governance across projects.
- Collaborate with security, cloud, application, and infrastructure teams to ensure alignment with business and compliance requirements.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure network designs meet performance, availability, and security SLAs.
- Participate in DR/BCP planning and ensure network readiness for failover scenarios.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive experience in enterprise network engineering and architecture.
- Expert‐level knowledge of routing, switching, and datacenter networking (BGP, OSPF, EVPN/VXLAN, MPLS, QoS, multicast).
- Deep Azure networking experience, including:
- VNet design and segmentation
- ExpressRoute and vWAN
- Azure NSGs, private endpoints
- Load balancing and cross‐region connectivity
- Strong experience with datacenter infrastructure, including:
- Spine‐leaf architectures
- Fabric technologies
- High‐availability design
- Hands‐on experience with SD‐WAN (Cisco Viptela, Meraki, Fortinet, Versa, etc.).
- Strong understanding of network security principles and technologies (NGFW, segmentation, Zero Trust).
- Experience with automation and IaC (Terraform, Ansible, Python) preferred.
- Proven ability to lead architectural discussions and influence cross‐functional teams.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Certifications (Highly Preferred)
- CCIE (Routing & Switching, Enterprise Infrastructure, or Datacenter)
- Azure certifications such as:
- Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ‐700)
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ‐305)
- Additional vendor certifications (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Palo Alto, Fortinet) are a plus.

Compensation Pay Disclosure:
$180,000-$190,000
