Full job description
- Exercise a high degree of professionalism when responding to internal and external customer concerns, repairs and installations of equipment.
- Perform electrical work such as preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of equipment related to electrical, controls, and PLC, assisting in the integration, start-up, and debug of new or moved equipment, and constructing and modifying new and existing electrical circuits and distribution equipment following NEC requirements
- Support the development of technician skills through training and coaching to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards and adherence to procedures
- Maintain accurate equipment repair/modification documentation and update equipment files
YOU HAVE:
- Experience supervising electricians, apprentices, and subcontractors
- Valid Electrician license in the state of Texas
- Exceptional knowledge of electrical systems, circuitry, and equipment
- PLC certified or demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot, program, configure and install PLC processors and components
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to determine appropriate solutions
- Ability to successfully implement preventive maintenance programs
- Ability to plan, estimate materials, and manage electrical projects from start to finish
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime or on‐call rotations as required
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, lockout/tagout, and OSHA standards

nVent is seeking an Electrician Lead to join our team in Houston, TX. In this role, you will play a key role in ensuring the operation of our facility and production equipment by overseeing, reviewing, and signing off on electrical work. You will be responsible for day-to-day troubleshooting, repairs, preventative maintenance, and process improvements. You will also provide guidance and coaching to our Electrical Shop and Team. Your leadership will be instrumental in the team's success, as you guide them to perform at the highest level and deliver exceptional results.
