Human Resources Business Partner (Pico Rivera, CA)
This role will require onsite support and is not available to be worked remotely.
Job Summary:
Allegion is seeking a hands-on HR Business Partner to support our Pico Rivera manufacturing facility. You will partner with plant leadership and frontline teams to deliver strong labor relations, employee engagement, talent management, recruitment, performance management, investigations, compensation reviews, and other HR activities in a unionized manufacturing environment. You will be the primary HR resource on-site and will work closely with Labor Relations and corporate HR to ensure consistent, compliant application of policies and collective bargaining agreements.
What You Will Do:
- Serve as the primary HR business partner for the Pico Rivera plant; coach managers, support frontline supervisors, and act as liaison to union representatives.
- Provide day-to-day consultation on employee relations, policy interpretation, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
- Lead the response to grievances: investigate, prepare written responses, facilitate resolution with union partners, and collaborate with Labor Relations and legal counsel as needed.
- Conduct and lead workplace investigations (harassment, discrimination, misconduct); ensure thorough documentation and appropriate corrective actions.
- Deliver training for managers and employees on contract interpretation, grievance procedures, performance management, and labor relations best practices.
- Support recruitment and onboarding for hourly and salaried positions; lead weekly staffing planning with operations.
- Administer payroll/timekeeping processes and support attendance and leave management consistent with company policies and the collective bargaining agreement.
- Support compensation and merit review processes and contribute to talent development efforts.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives and improvement plans to build morale, reduce turnover, and support a productive work environment.
- Collaborate with EHS and operations on safety culture, return-to-work, and accommodation processes.
- Maintain accurate employee records and use HRIS systems for reporting and analytics.
- Contribute to broader HR projects and process improvements as assigned.
What You Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. HR certification (PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as an HR Business Partner or similar HR role and any experience in a unionized manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of collective bargaining agreements, grievance procedures, and labor-management relations.
- Experience conducting workplace investigations and applying progressive discipline consistently and fairly.
- Familiarity with California employment laws and regulations is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems; Workday experience is a plus.
- Experience with payroll/timekeeping systems and related processes.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills; ability to build credibility with both bargaining unit employees and management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment and to maintain confidentiality and sound judgment.
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
Physical/Other Requirements
- Onsite presence at the Pico Rivera facility required; ability to move around production areas and attend meetings across shifts.
- Flexible schedule may be needed to support multiple shifts and urgent labor relations matters.

- The expected Base Salary Range: $103,000 - $120,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
