Full job description
AECOM is actively seeking a highly skilled CEI Senior Inspector to join our team and support ongoing construction engineering and inspection efforts in the Fort Myers, FL area. This role will play a critical part in ensuring that major transportation and infrastructure projects are delivered in accordance with FDOT standards, contract requirements, and overall project objectives.
- Performs highly complex technical assignments related to field surveying and construction layout, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications
- Verifies engineering computations, inspects construction work, and conducts field testing to maintain quality and compliance standards
- Coordinates, oversees, and provides guidance to junior inspectors to ensure consistent execution of inspection activities
- Operates under the general supervision of the Project Administrator while exercising independent judgment in daily responsibilities
- Utilizes experience and sound judgment to effectively plan, prioritize, and accomplish project goals
- Establishes and manages project timelines and deadlines to support overall project delivery
- Provides on-the-job training and mentorship to new team members to support their development and integration
- Monitors conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and applicable code requirements through detailed inspection activities
- Conducts daily field inspections and maintains accurate, organized inspection records and reports
- Participates in punch list development, system testing, and commissioning activities to ensure project completion standards are met
- Tracks and reports on quality assurance progress, identifying and addressing any deficiencies
- Contributes to documentation for area and equipment turnover packages, ensuring completeness and accuracy for project closeout
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma plus 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education
- U.S. Citizenship is required, due to the nature of the work
- Valid US Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
Preferred Qualifications:
- Four (4) years of CEI experience in roadway or bridge construction
- CTQP Final Estimates Level I
- CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I
- CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges)
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level II
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level II
- CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
- CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection
- FDOT Intermediate MOT
- IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I
- Nuclear Radiation Safety
