## Powder Coat Processor - Technical Glass Products, Snoqualmie, WA

The Powder Coating team is responsible for preparing the product surface for final coating and painting using a variety of tools before the product moves to final assembly. This includes applying coating, working with machines, and ensuring high quality of metal door and frame systems surfaces. The goal of the Powder Coat Processor is to assure complete and proper surface preparation is performed so coating coverage, thickness, and cure is completed to the manufacturing standards and specifications.

Current work schedule is Monday-Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM. Will move to a 4x10 schedule of Monday-Thursday 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM effective August 3rd.

What You Will Do:

  • Ensure proper operation, maintenance and record keeping of the 5-stage pre-finishing system.
  • Ensure project pre-finishing and finishing documentation is properly recorded and maintained.
  • Identify characteristics of surfaces to be coated and ensures proper preparation for application of coating.
  • Understand general pre-prep operation, including viewing product for defects before entering the coating booth.
  • Apply coatings in accordance with manufacturer Technical Data Sheet (TDS) and ensure proper cure time and temperature are achieved.
  • Perform quality certification testing and record results on corresponding load-bar routing traveler.
  • Prepare parts for rework to correct coating defect.
  • Ensure proper operation and maintenance of the cure ovens.
  • Set rigging and scaffolding and operate lifts and small cranes as needed to perform work.
  • Operate a variety of power and hand tools and equipment, including applicators, sandblasting and pressure washing equipment.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment as indicated by the assignment.
  • Inspect and maintains equipment for compliance with safety requirements, including but not limited to, all guarding.
  • Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Understand and comply with all appropriate safety and work safety regulations.
  • Continuously maintain a clean work area including the cleanup and disposal of trash, production scrap, and material drop-off. Assists in cleaning common areas. Dispose of hazardous waste periodically, as part of the housekeeping procedures.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Entry level. Prior manufacturing, powder coating, or pre-finishing experience is preferred, but not required
  • Provide high quality internal customer service.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify differences in color.
  • Ability to stay organized and communicate efficiently to complete assigned tasks in a limited timeframe.
  • Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner.
  • Ability to work in hot, humid environment.
  • Remains alert in a high-risk environment.
  • Maintains schedule and tasks despite interruptions. Non-conforming parts may impact schedule and will impact project costs and rework costs. Defects on coated parts or missed schedules may result in rework costs and missed shipping dates to the customer.
  • Willing to work in a team environment.
  • Sound judgment is required when working with and around production cells and determining when and how orders will be completed.

Physical Demands:

  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle parts and tools with precision.
  • Repetitive Motion: Perform repetitive motions such as bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, lifting, gripping, and grasping with hands.
  • Standing Duration: Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per shift.
  • Lifting Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Lift Assist Devices: Use of overhead crane and forklift with training may be required.
  • Environmental Exposure: Ability to work in environments with noise, chemicals, dust, sharp objects, moving/rotating mechanical parts, and temperature extremes.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Respirator, fall protection, welding hood, etc. may be required depending on job duty and/or work area

Employment Type: Full time, hourly non-exempt

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experiences.

  • The expected Base Hourly Range: $22.00 - $27.66. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
