Turner & Townsend is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Engineer who has prior experience managing the financial and cost reporting aspects of large-scale construction projects or programs. The ideal individual will have prior experience successfully managing and leading a team.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the development and implementation of cost reporting strategies for major construction projects.
- Providing specialist technical cost engineering advice to private sector clients across a variety of construction contracts.
- Preparing and managing project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Monitoring project costs and ensuring they align with the approved budget.
- Conducting financial analysis and reporting on project performance.
- Supporting project billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards, and industry best practices (AACE)
- Building positive relationships within the project team and with Client personnel and their key advisors.
- Managing and updating internal financial trackers and supporting the financial capability of the project services function.
- Supporting the delivery of both teams and wider business targets.
- Supporting data visualization and reporting via digital dashboard and automation tools.
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable
Project/Program specific responsibilities:
- Market sector experience: Oil and Gas, Power Generation, Utility or other heavy industry experience required.
- Project/program size in dollar value: Demonstrated experience on projects or programs >$1BB
- Software specific requirements: SAP, Ecosys, Power-BI, Power Automate
- Certification requirements: Membership or certifications from AACE or similar preferred
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, construction management, business administration or related work experience.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of applicable experience in project cost engineering or cost management, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Working knowledge and experience of various financial management systems and software.
- Experience managing project budgets and financial reporting, preferably with an EPC background.
- Experience in implementing financial strategies, including risk identification, quantification, and allocation.
- Proven ability to liaise with and coordinate multiple stakeholders to develop robust financial documents.
- Excellent communication skills.
