About This Role:

As the CMC Asset Lead, you will be an integral part of the PO&T Nephrology team, focusing on the development and launch of Biogen's nephrology assets. Your initial focus will be on overseeing a critical asset in clinical development for multiple indications, including three Phase 3 studies. The successful commercialization of this asset between 2028-2030 is pivotal to Biogen’s growth. In this role, you'll manage various aspects of asset strategy, launch planning, life cycle management, and project financials. Your efforts will directly contribute to the advancement of Biogen's portfolio in nephrology, ensuring alignment with business objectives and collaboration across various stakeholders. Your position within the organization allows you to steer complex, dynamic projects that are essential for the company's strategic goals.

This is a hybrid role that can be based in any of our US offices (RTP, NC or Cambridge, MA or San Francisco, CA).

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and maintain a 5-year PO&T Asset Strategy and an 18-month rolling Tactical Plan.
  • Lead the cross-functional Asset Team to deliver on strategic objectives.
  • Manage financial accountability, including AOP and FTE allocations, and monitor impacts on the P&L.
  • Develop business cases for key initiatives and secure management endorsement.
  • Proactively resolve conflicts related to Asset Strategy in consultation with governance boards.
  • Serve as the PO&T representative on commercial or development teams, influencing strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with PO&T and other stakeholders to align asset development with business objectives.
  • Oversee asset planning and execution for late-stage activities and launch.
  • Conduct asset scenario planning and evaluation for development, launch, and life cycle management.

Required Skills:

  • BS or equivalent in Sciences/Engineering with an advanced degree (MS, PhD, MBA) in a relevant biopharmaceutical discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience with a focus on matrix management.
  • Proven track record in matrix leadership across program teams and the full product life cycle, including experience in commercial launch.
  • Experience in alliance management, preferably global, and understanding of business contracts.
  • Expertise in CMC, supply chain, or life cycle management development, from IND to NDA/BLA.
  • Strong strategic, organizational, and relationship development skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence strategic direction, leveraging diverse team perspectives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify critical program risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Experience in healthcare, biotech, or pharmaceutical industries with cross-functional interdependencies.
  • Strategic political skills with the ability to navigate complex organizational structures.
  • Technical expertise in biopharmaceutical development disciplines.

The base compensation range for this role is: $204,000.00-$281,000.00 Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
