Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
AND
- 1+ years of working experience as a Medical Assistant in a Hospital, Primary Care, Emergency Department, or Urgent Care setting
OR
- One of the following MA certifications at the time of hire (or must obtain within 12 months of hire):
- CCMA- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (verified through NHA, National Health career Association)
- CMA- Certified Medical Assistant (verified through AAMA, American Association of Medical Assistants, or CHP Certified Health Professionals)
- RMA- Registered Medical Assistant (verified through AMT, American Medical Technologists, or AAH, American Allied Health, or ARMA American Registry of Medical Assistants)
- NCMA- National Certified Medical Assistant (verified through NCCT, National Center for Competency Testing)
- NRCMA- Nationally Registered Certified Medial Assistant (verified through the National Association for Health Professionals)
OR
- One of the following:
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing, LPN or LVN at the time of hire (verified through state license)
- EMT- Emergency Medical Technician (verified through state certification and/or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians)
- Paramedic (verified through state certification and/or and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians)
Required Licenses/Certifications
- CPOE certification required within 2 weeks of hire if MA certification is not obtained at hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA)

- CMA- Certified Medical Assistant (verified through AAMA, American Association of Medical Assistant)

Essential Responsibilities
- Register patients and verify insurance and documentation
- Schedule appointments and process co-pays
- Prepare patients for examination and record medical history
- Perform vital signs and preliminary patient assessments
- Conduct point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG)
- Assist providers with patient care and procedures
- Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical records
- Answer patient questions and coordinate referrals
- Perform opening/closing duties and maintain equipment quality checks
- Support a safe, organized, and patient-centered clinical environment
- All other duties as assigned.
