Full job description

SUMMARY Enhances the capabilities of the Manufacturing Engineering Department by providing technical and administrative support to the engineering group as directed by the assigned team Project Engineer.

  • Maintain Program Manager (PM) up to date on the progress of Engineering tests or validation runs assigned as per project timeline. Attend corresponding meetings and report to the Program Manager the status or flag potential test delay.
  • Generate or update, as required, SAP information before Engineering tests executions.
  • Generates all required documentation related to Engineering Tests and validation runs. Routes documentation as per SOP requirements
  • Tracks and monitors the execution of Engineering Tests as assigned by the PM. Expedites test support activities by peer departments (planning, warehouse, manufacturing, etc.)
  • Collaborates in the completion of Engineering Test Summary reports as assigned by the PM.
  • Interfaces with personnel in Material Management, Engineering, Production and Quality Control as required for the adequate execution of Engineering Tests.
  • Initiates the requisitions on corresponding expenses or services related to the Engineering test assigned.
  • Hosts and escorts customer representatives that assist and participate in the engineering tests conducted at Jabil Puerto Rico, as required.
  • Collaborates in the resolution and closing of Corrective Actions (and the corresponding Corrective Action Plan) assigned to the Engineering Department.
  • Acts as the Training Facilitator for the Engineering Tests, as required by the specific Engineering Test or Validation run, to the corresponding Quality, Metrology and Manufacturing personnel which will actively participate in these events. Prepares Training records as required and submits relevant documentation to the Validation Engineer.
  • Collaborates in the development of Engineering related SOP’s.
  • Generate the required Change Control to discard and properly disposes obsolete equipment as applicable.
  • Participates in strategic planning exercises at the department and plant level as required.
  • Responsible for the communication to the Validation Engineer and Program Manager for each defect found in a product during the Engineering tests executions.
  • Observes all company regulations, and procedures such as safety and housekeeping (6’s).
  • Maintains working area clean, organized, and safe.
  • Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Complies with all Manufacturing Procedures and Instruction applicable.
  • Follows rules that apply to clean and controlled room.
  • Responsible of performing as per Job Description’s SOP’s and Work Instructions.
  • Attends all requested training or company meetings.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, Science or equivalent education and / or experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Interpersonal Relations
  • Bilingual: Spanish-English
  • Ability to communicate clearly situations and problems which are highly technical.
  • Ability of remaining tactful and diplomatic under conflicting situations.
  • Respectful, responsible and ethical behavior

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • General knowledge of blueprints, diagrams and dimensional specification sheet interpretation.
  • Excellent math, trigonometry and geometry skills

REASONING ABILITY

  • Basic knowledge in tooling terms
  • Negotiation skills
  • Capable of properly reacting to change

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORK ENVIRONMENT T The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Individual’s primary workstation is located in the office area, where the noise level is low. Team member may frequently be present on the manufacturing floor where the noise level is low to moderate.
