Description

The Accountant supports the Finance and Accounting Manager in key accounting activities and provides reliable service to internal and external customers. The role includes performing general accounting tasks with accuracy and adherence to GAAP and internal policies, requiring strong analytical skills, independence, and collaboration across the department. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, systems savvy, and proactive, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment while maintaining accurate financial records and contributing to process improvements. The required part-time hours are from the 2nd to the last day of the month through the 10th business day of the month. If the person was interested in seasonal work, we could have 40hrs/week during May-October, but must go down to ~20hrs/week for November-April.

The essential duties of the Accountant position include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform and review balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Prepare, enter, and review journal entries and other month-end deliverables for month-end close.
  • Assist with preparing reports, schedules, and reconciliations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain GAAP-compliant accounting records across general ledger areas including cash, sales & use tax, payroll entries, and accruals.
  • Assist with annual and interim audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies and contribute to updating and improving procedures.
  • Recommend process enhancements to improve accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls.

Qualifications for the Accountant position include but are not limited to:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency with ERP/accounting systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self‐motivated, team‐oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Systems‐savvy and comfortable learning new tools.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Positive attitude and commitment to cross‐functional teamwork.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment and preparing sales & use tax returns preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is anticipated to be from $28.85/hr - $35.10/hr.
