Transco Railcar Repair

Assembles minor products or components with a small number of details within routine and highly repetitive assembly operations. Typically works at a workbench or on a conveyer line. Common tasks include checking, sorting, packaging, labeling, pasting, sniping, tying, or trimming either manually or by machine. Performs basic equipment adjustments, routine maintenance, and cleaning. May perform miscellaneous jobs such as moving assemblies/machines or cleaning floors. Typically has 0-2 years of experience and works under close supervision. Typical job titles include: General Labor, Machine Operator, Maker/Packer, Assembler and Line Operator.

Job Description

We are looking for a Blaster to operate blasting equipment to remove rust, scale, paint and other foreign materials from the interior and exterior of railcars and its related equipment. This is a role where you will work in a TEAM environment where safety always comes first.

Shift: 3rd Shift Monday Nights - Friday Nights 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.

Pay: $24.50/hour + $3.00/hr shift differential

Job Requirements:

  • Operate blasting equipment to remove scale, paint and other foreign substances from inside and/or outside of railcars and other materials to prime, paint and stencil the interior and/or exterior surfaces of railcars or equipment.
  • Adjust equipment as necessary to perform efficient and proper blasting.
  • Surface preparation of non-finished railcars and components using various blast media methods.
  • Perform preventative maintenance procedures for blast and recovery systems.
  • The ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • The ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
  • The ability to lift 50 pounds with proper body mechanics.
  • Ability to work within a teamwork environment with regular and predictable attendance.
  • Keep materials area and other work areas clean and orderly and report potential hazards.
  • Able to pass drug screen, physical.

Pay Range:

24.75 - 30.25
