Senior Construction Manager - Data Center Construction at Turner & Townsend — Pittsburgh, PA

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to support the delivery of large-scale, mission-critical data center projects. This role is responsible for leading construction execution, coordinating complex MEP systems, and driving projects through commissioning and turnover in fast-track environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day construction execution, ensuring safety, schedule, cost, and quality performance.
• Oversee installation and integration of complex electrical and mechanical systems including power distribution, backup generation, UPS, and cooling infrastructure.
• Drive projects from preconstruction through commissioning and final turnover.
• Lead commissioning activities including pre-functional, functional, and integrated systems testing (IST).
• Maintain strong on-site presence to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with design intent.
• Manage procurement and delivery of long-lead equipment such as switchgear, generators, and mechanical systems.
• Coordinate with utility providers for power and infrastructure delivery.
• Provide leadership to contractors and trade partners.
• Ensure safety protocols during energized work and startup activities.
• SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 10–15+ years of construction management experience, with data center or mission-critical projects required.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience with commissioning and system turnover.
• Proven ability to deliver fast-track, complex projects.
