The Director of IT Cybersecurity will own and manage Ensemble's cybersecurity platforms, ensuring they are deployed, configured, and operated effectively to protect the organization. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will manage a team of security engineers and analysts responsible for the day-to-day operation of cybersecurity platforms, while also directly contributing to platform administration and technical problem-solving. The Director of IT Cybersecurity will develop a keen understanding of Ensemble's unique business requirements to identify and reduce enterprise risk, and will report to the Deputy CISO.
Essential Job Functions
- Owns the end-to-end lifecycle of Ensemble's cybersecurity platforms (e.g., SIEM, EDR/XDR, IAM, vulnerability management, firewalls and network security tools), including deployment, configuration, tuning, upgrades, and end-of-life planning.
- Ensures cybersecurity platforms are properly integrated, licensed, and performing to established service levels.
- Evaluates and recommends new security platforms and tools as business needs and the threat landscape evolve.
- Manages vendor relationships and contracts for cybersecurity tooling.
- Manages the budget for cybersecurity platforms and tooling, including forecasting and cost optimization.
- Provides hands-on leadership to a team of security engineers and analysts, balancing direct platform work with delegation, setting priorities, reviewing work, and coaching for technical growth.
- Establishes change control and configuration management practices for cybersecurity platforms to ensure changes are tracked, tested, and approved before deployment.
- Partners with security Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) - e.g., incident response, threat intel, compliance - to ensure platforms are configured to meet their operational needs.
- Ensures platforms meet required security standards by providing control assurance evidence and validation to demonstrate ongoing effectiveness.
- Partners with other IT teams whose systems and applications are protected by Ensemble's cybersecurity platforms.
- Develops and tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for platform health, uptime, and operational success.
- Reports on platform status, risks, and roadmap to the Deputy CISO, and participates in relevant status meetings.

Employment Qualifications
- CISSP, CompTIA SecurityX, GIAC (GSEC/GCIA/GMON), or equivalent platform/technical certification; vendor-specific certifications (e.g., SIEM, EDR, or IAM platform certs) a plus.
- 5-7 years or relative experience
- 2-3 years, or more, of true leadership experience
- Bachelors Degree in Information Systems or Equivalent Experience
- Practical experience building threat-based cybersecurity programs and designing and implementing security controls and compliance programs.
- Hands-on experience administering and managing cybersecurity platforms such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, IAM, vulnerability management, or network security tools, with experience leading engineering or operations teams responsible for these platforms.
- Self-motivated and willing to take on challenges while adapting to an ever-changing operational environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong business acumen to quickly learn new business processes and understand how application performance requirements support the business in achieving revenue and profit goals.
- Excellent collaboration skills - must be eager to work as part of a cohesive team and work as a partner to other teams within Ensemble, locally and globally.
- Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to gather relevant data and information, actively listen, dialogue freely, verbalize ideas effectively, negotiate tense situations successfully, and manage and resolve conflict.

- This role pays between $141,300- 223,200 based on experience
- Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to innovation including AI to explore better processes and ways to alleviate friction and improve patient and client experiences.
- This is a remote position; however, candidates must be willing and able to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require.
